A number of new features and improvements are now available with Micromine Nexus 1.2.0:
Admin Settings
Inviting guests
A Guest role has been added to each Subscription tier, allowing Administrators to invite any external user to use Nexus for a limited period of time with Read Only permission. Guest users can be provided with permissions to Workspaces and Projects when activated.
Each subscription tier has its own number of allowable guests. Guest can be invited from the Users tab in Admin settings.
An expiry date is shown for each Guest, with a colour indicating the status for the guest user.
- Grey - The Guest has not yet activated the account
- Green – The Guest has activated the account (shown in the example below)
- Yellow – The Guest account expires in 2 weeks
- Red – The Guest account has expired
The expiry date will be visible to the Guest user from their Personal settings if the role expires within 2 weeks.
File Management
Share links with external users
A Share Link option has been added to the File Info panel in the Library to enable temporary sharing links to download selected files. A URL is created which can be provided to external people without access to Micromine Nexus, in order to share data and allow the download of the file/s. You will be prompted to select a lifetime for the link to be valid - 1 day, 1 week or 1 month. Any user with the link will be able to download the selected files during the valid period. After the lifetime has expired, the file/s will not be accessible through the generated link.
Task Management
View tasks from your Nexus Home page
A list of all of the tasks logged in the Workspace are now displayed on the Home page, along with the available Projects and configured Users and Groups.
Filter by Task when searching
Task search has been added to the Search page to quickly find a specific task. A drop down for the Type filter on the main Search menu allows you to select Task for the search.
When the Task is selected from the Type filter, the Filters for tasks options appear; from which you can filter by Task type, Status, Priority and other task data.
After the Task search is complete, the search results list tasks with properties and description. The Task page can be opened from this list.
Improvements to how individual tasks can be viewed
Individual tasks can now be opened in a page with all properties displayed – Users and Attributes, Description and Priority, Status, Start and End dates, Progress, attached files and Comments. Double clicking the task in the Gantt chart list will open the task in the Task page.
Additionally, the URL for the Task page is a working link to the task that can be copied and shared between users.
Scroll to the current date on the Gantt Chart
The Scroll to the Current Date icon has been added to the Gantt Chart ribbon to allow the display of today's date in the chart.
View the Gantt chart by Days, Weeks, Months or Years
An option to scale the Gantt chart has been added. The chart can be scaled to display increments of Days, Weeks, Months or Years.
Duplicate Tasks
The Duplicate Task button has been added to Tasks to allow multiple duplicates of existing tasks. Existing tasks can be duplicated/cloned and renamed and given new Start and End dates to create a new task with similar details. Users, Attachments and Attributes will all be copied to the new task. The new option is useful where you have to create repeated tasks.
Add comments to your Tasks
Comments functionality has been added to Tasks. The Task page for a task features a Comments field which can be populated by users to communicate within the context of the Task.
User Interface
Edit images or icons using the Image Editor
An Image Editor has been added for all User avatars and Workspace, Project, Task icons. The Editor allows you to crop, scale, and rotate an image to be used for an icon or an avatar. The Image Editor can be found everywhere where an icon can be selected; for example, Personal, Workspace and Project settings.
View user details by hovering over the user
